This Sunday I’ve been to the The Vintage Furniture Flea in Bethnal Green (East London). I have to say that, I haven’t appreciate Vintage Style since I moved to London. This city seems to be crazy about it. Even if I didn’t have much money to spend ( as I’m trying to save it for my trip to NY 🙂 ) I think there were few little beautiful things that make the visit worth while.
The Fair is covering furniture, homewares, textiles, lights and prints, with a focus on mid-century and vintage style. Honestly I found that there weren’t as many pieces of furniture, but the most interesting ones were on a little corner at the left side, just off the main space.
I can’t believe it’s September already.
I always loved and hated this time of the year: summer is almost over, schools starts again (sometimes I wish I was still at school), days are getting shorter, but, at the same time, it is the best moment to start with some fresh ideas, change things, clean the house, buying new schoolbooks ( do you remember the excitement of buying new notebooks, books and pencils before school starts? I can almost smell it :0 ), or simply make some plans for winter.
Happy Friday! The weather has been so lovely here in London this week, that it’s still making me feel like I’m on holiday.
To keep the mood going, I’m gonna share a few more pics of the White & Blue House:
The living room is dominated by the curvy lines of the fireplace and the two little arched windows.
The vintage wicker chair has been restored and has stripy white and light blue fabric cushions, the same fabric has been used for the curtains and the sofa. The floors of the entire house are covered with local ‘terracotta’ tiles.
I recently just found out that H&M has a lovely Home Collection. A bit late in discovering this, I know, but it was a good surprise.
I found on Stylizmo (of my favourite blogs) the photo of this beautiful bookend:
I was so surprised when I found out it was from H&M…. I never knew they also have a Home collection, like Zara Home or French Connection Home. After all H&M is a Scandinavian brand, so I must check that out!
Last Sunday I was in the centre with my boyfriend for a quick shopping, before our visit to Ireland next week, and I didn’t miss the opportunity to drag him into and H&M shop.
I couldn’t find the bookend, but I discovered a lot of lovely things. The prices are also very accessible. Here’s my wishlist:
- Small Wire Basket 2. Stoneware Jug 3. Patterned Tea Towel 4.Felted Storage Basket 5. Stoneware Mug 6.Round Mirror 7. Basket in Metal wire 8. Round Tray
For now I bought just a new Natural Linen Duvet cover, very nice and fresh, perfect for these last London Summer days. But I’ll be back soon 🙂
Did you know H&M Home? Did you buy any good thing there? How is the quality?
I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it but I do have a thing with black and white.
You can probably notice, if you’re following me on Instagram, but I can’t help it…
