Say welcome to our new Lounge Chair (I still have to give her a name)!!! If you remember my last post about the top 10 Best Lounge Chair I had a clear idea that a Mid-Century piece was the style to go for.
I had almost decided to buy the IKEA EKENÄSET Armchair, but my boyfriend made the point that if we wanted a vintage style chair we should perhaps trying and look in a Vintage shop for an actual vintage one (good point, well made….). That’s where our research started: we visited few vintage flea market (there are lots here in London) and some antique shops, but we couldn’t find what we wanted (or it was out of budget).
I finally found the perfect one from CART-HOUSE (a Mid-Century and Vintage shop based in Herefordshire ) and in less than a week, they delivered straight to our flat (on a Saturday yeah he – I love Saturdays deliveries….don’t you?).
This beautiful 1960s Scandinavian inspired classic design is made by Scandart: a mid-century English furniture company based in High Wycombe (like Ercol), making high-quality furniture based on Scandinavian designs. I love the simple elm structure and the light gray wool cushions, it’s just perfect for our flat (also the size seems perfect).
It’s also very comfy and goes super well my new cashmere blanket! And look at those gorgeous Wegner inspired arms:
I think it really looks perfect in our living room corner, and it’s the ideal reading corner. Don’t you think?
Have a lovely week.
xx
